Tea is an important part of Russian culture, and is considered to be the national beverage of Russia -- not vodka! Russian drink more tea than any other people on Earth, and tea is closely associated with traditional Russian culture. Russian tea is brewed and can be served sweet, hot or cold. Russians often drink tea infusions, from herbs and berries. It is also common for Russians to use jam as a natural tea infusion. A notable feature of Russian tea culture is the samovar, which is traditionally used for brewing and is the technological basis for electric tea kettles we are familiar with today.
